About Cwmtawe 7’s Touch
At the end of 2023, a small group of players got together with the aim of starting a Pontardawe Old Boys touch rugby team recognising that the team would be beneficial to players general physical well-being and mental health.
The team steadily took off, going from strength to strength the more we trained and played together and building on the success of the of the team a decision was made to organise a touch rugby 7’s competition.
Now with 20 teams entered the event has grown beyond our expectations and we are proud to introduce the first Cwmtawe 7’s “The Old Boys” Touch Rugby Tournament.
Several local companies have kindly sponsored the event with Clearsafe Knotweed as the tournaments main sponsor.
Now we’re already planning next year’s competition with the addition of running a lady’s touch competition so please come and join us for a family fun day of touch rugby, great food and entertainment.

As a local company, we are excited to support a local sporting event which gives so much back to the community and having competed in a variety of sports, from local to international levels, our directors have a passion for sport and value the benefits that sport brings to people of any age and any level.
Touch Rugby for the over 35’s provides an opportunity for those ‘retired’ from sport to connect with like-minded people, re-discover their youth and improve their general fitness.
With local clubs reaching out and developing their ‘Old Boys’ game, men and women are being provided with an outlet to improve their social and mental wellbeing.
Supporting Cwmtawe 7’s comes on the back of Clearsafe Knotweed having already sponsored numerous local sports clubs, including Ynystawe Cricket Club, Bonymaen RFC and Trebanos RFC and more recently Pontardawe Old boys Touch Team.
